What you'll do A Histotechnican I is a licensed clinical laboratory technology practitioner who performs slide based histological assays, tests, and procedures and any other such tests conducted by a clinical histology laboratory, including maintaining equipment and records and performing quality assurance activities relating to procedure performance on histological testing of human tissues. Prepares samples for examination and performance of testing following established procedures. Correlates knowledge and understanding of theory and technical elements of testing to solve problems and answers questions effectively and efficiently. Prepares slides and tests for macroscopic and microscopic examination and performs manual and automatic staining procedures in accordance with established protocols Performs Quality Control processes Maintains laboratory equipment, instruments, reagents and/or supplies and documentation required Follows all institution and department policies and procedures Maintains a clean and orderly work environment Review work of students as assigned Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager. What we need from you Education: 2 year/Associate degree in related field, required Candidates must be qualified as a Histotechnician or clinical laboratory technician in accordance with New York State Department of Health Regulations, required Licensure/Certifications: Licensure by NYS SED as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Histotechnician, or licensure eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Histotechnician, required Limited Permit is granted to individuals that meet the educational requirements for licensure except for the licensing examination which must be taken within one year from the issuance of a limited permit. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
