In this role, you will play a vital part in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients by accurately processing surgical pathology specimens. Your primary responsibility will include grossing non-complex tissue specimens. The specimens will consist of mostly biopsy specimens but may include small, non-complex excisions. Proficiency in using the Pathology Laboratory Information System is essential. Assist with other laboratory duties as needed. To succeed in this role, you must have strong attention to detail, work efficiently in a high-volume environment, and demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while being a dependable team player. Excellent troubleshooting skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards are required. Additionally, the position involves handling chemicals, reagents, and hazardous waste materials. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program**** **Qualifications** Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university in histology, biology or having emphasized anatomical, biological, and chemical sciences and minimum of 1 year histology experience; or Associate of Science degree from an accredited college/university in histology, biology or having emphasized anatomical, biological, and chemical science and a minimum of 3 years histology experience; or meet CLIA-88 regulations (42CFR493.1487 through 1491) for high complexity testing and a minimum of 5 years histology experience. Three years immunohistochemical staining experience within the last 10 years strongly preferred. **Additional Skills and Qualifications:** Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
