Schedule: Full-time (40)

Shift : Days, Flexible schedule; most likely 7 AM- 3:30 PM Monday to Friday

Location: 2525 S DOWNING ST, Denver, 80210; Porter Hospital

The role you’ll contribute:

Assists the pathologist in the daily operations of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory. Performs all basic histology functions in the preparation of tissue samples for examination including but not limited to embedding, cutting, staining and frozen sections. Participates in quality control, quality assurance and training new staff.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

Receives and accessions tissue samples into the lab computer system checking for accuracy of paperwork.

Processes and prepares samples for testing for send-outs as well as in-house testing.

Prepares appropriate cassettes, processes, embeds and cuts tissues appropriately preparing slides.

Performs routine H & E Stains on slides and special stains as ordered by pathologist.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Associate degree

CN-HISTO - Certified Histotechnologist

Familiar with histology lab instrumentation and processes

Critical thinking skills

Computer skills

Detail oriented

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Additional experience and skills that will help you succeed:

QIHC (Qualification in Immunohistochemistry)
