Histotechnologist- Full Time, Days

Job Summary:
Responsible to section, stain and mount tissue specimens in preparation for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. Assists the Pathologist in making various examinations on submitted tissue specimens and subsequent preparations. Performance of duties is in accordance with CLIA ’88 guidelines. Performs quality control, quality assurance, maintenance and troubleshooting. Duties may also include clerical tasks, specimen collection, and related laboratory services.
Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university with a minimum of 60 semester hours of biology and chemistry or previous experience as a Histology Technician to qualify for the in-house training program (this qualification for the training program will be determined by the leadership of the Clinical Laboratory).
ASCP certification or eligible for certification as Histology Technician by ASCP required within 6 months of the completion of the 1-year in-house training program.
