Kelly Science is seeking a Histotechnologist I for a growing company located in Needham, MA. Shift: Overnight Employment Type: Full Time; Temp-to-Hire Job Duties include: + Performing routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists, according to policies and procedures. + Performing routine histology, including specimen processing, embedding, slide preparation, microtomy, staining, and immunohistochemistry. + Maintaining diagnostic viability of all specimens and ensures correct patient labeling. + Correctly preparing special stains and solutions. + Routinely checking and verifying that surgical case numbers of match blocks and slides; prints labels as appropriate. + Recording in laboratory logbooks all slides and stains prepared daily. + Logging appropriate information into the surgical pathology computer system. + Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and troubleshoots minor equipment failures. + Documenting remedial actions such as repairs or repeated tests. + Ensuring compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations. Qualifications Include: + High School Diploma Required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. + 1+ years of experience within an anatomical pathology laboratory. + HT/HTL ASCP certification strongly preferred. + Demonstrate understanding of the equipment used daily, including, but not limited to, microtome, stainer/cover slipper, and slide labeler.
