HL7 Integration Specialist- Remote

Description

ICF is seeking a HL7 Integration Specialist to support scrum teams for our Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) clients. The HL7 Integration Specialist is responsible for all stages of the integration development lifecycle: analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and support. Work experience should highlight public health information systems or clinical health IT business acumen, management consulting, quality management and control. Dedicated to excellence in customer service and proven track record of working with clients in a professional manner, the candidate should showcase project delivery experience supporting IT and public/clinical health programs and relevant experience in management consulting. Work experience should highlight a proven track record of success in supporting complex technology initiatives. The candidate should have strong quantitative, analytical, communication and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborates with application teams, subject matter experts, and third-party application experts to determine the business needs for interfaces, documents requirements, and configures the interfaces per the requirements.Coordinates various interface specific tasks and activities like testing, build, cut-over planning, and go-live by engaging subject matter experts, vendors, and interface engine developers.Drives interface projects, working with the project manager to ensure that results are achieved, and deadlines are met.Monitors production systems for issues and resolves issues or escalates them for resolution, post-deployment.Functions as business partner with service lines, departments, individuals, and coworkers.Develops intermediate knowledge of system capabilities, applications, and processes to function effectively as an educator and expert for system users.Participates actively in routine meetings with department heads and/or superusers to identify, document, and prioritize their needs.Meets with application teams, third-party vendors, and business partners to understand integration needs.Identifies and reviews the appropriate technological solutions for various integration needs.Understands Health Level 7 (HL7) data standards for electronic healthcare interoperability.Builds and supports HL7 interfaces ensuring EHR integration to applications through HL7, FHIR, APIs.Understands basic networking concepts.Manages integration projects.Develops application workflow understanding and integration impact.Builds and supports integration engine interfaces.Develops understanding of performance of integrations and integration engines.Reviews application upgrade documentation for integration impact.Adheres to agile project management protocol and EPLC governance.Advocates user perspective and focuses on ensuring a comprehensive support plan and documentation.Ensures compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) guidelines, policies, and procedures and other patient privacy and confidentiality standards.Provides system solutions in accordance with regulatory guidelines and data governance standards.Follows prescribed change management and time reporting processes and documentation requirements.Provides and communicates clear documentation for support, status, and issue resolution.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, statistics, or equivalent education3+ years of progressive experience in clinical, business, or other healthcare operational areas3+ years’ experience with clinical information management systems2+ years’ experience with SQL, Java, or .NET2+ years’ experience in HL7 mapping or HL7 message processing within Mirth, Rhapsody, or EHR Integration EnginesAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust federal security clearanceMust be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business, Management, Public Health, or Health InformaticsKnowledge of HL7 2.5.1 implementation guides for HL7 Version 3 Standard: Patient Administration, ADT - Admit, Discharge, and Transfer which defines the requirements and specifications to support interoperability amongst clinical and non-clinical systems regarding patient encounters and administrative registries.Knowledge and experience with agile implementation practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).Experience working with state public health departments or federal agencies.Experience with messaging standards: HL7, XML, FHIR, LOINC, SNOMED

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$76,848.00 - $130,642.00
