HSI Junior System Administrator 

 

Description:
HSI is excited about our continued growth and are seeking a Junior System Administrator to manage our server infrastructure. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP-IP, PC hardware, user and group management, remote access and general network/information security. Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, documentation skills, and perform with minimal supervision.

 

Tasks and responsibilities include:

Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware & software issues in a timely mannerRecord all client inquiries in ticketing system; from initial call to incident resolutionPerform on-site troubleshooting of hardware, network, & softwareServe as point of escalation for helpdesk staffPerform new software/hardware installations, configurations, and upgradesBuild and deploy workstation images using RMM softwareConfigure, maintain, & create workstation backups using backup toolsInstall, Configure, & Support MS Office ProductsInstall and configure Broadband Internet modems, internal LAN Routers, Switches, NAS devices & WIFIPerform audits of systems and hardwareMaintains the integrity and security of servers and systemsConfigure and troubleshoot issues on Microsoft Surface devicesDiagnose and resolve issues with Google Apps for EDUUse RMM software to diagnose issues and perform automation tasksAssist customers in gaining access to various systems and serversAbility to understand & articulate root cause on client issuesWork closely with the team to resolve or properly close aging ticketsManage individual queue of tickets and respond, document, and close in a timely manner.Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction

 

Qualifications:

Excellent analytical abilities, project and time management skills, with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyWindows Server Operating Systems (2012 to 2019) Active Directory management Group Policy Management Incident management and troubleshooting skills Windows file shares and security administration Windows 7 and 10 Desktop Operating Systems Provides advice and training to end-usersMaintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assignedExcellent Customer Service Skills.Microsoft 365 and Azure ExperienceClear understanding of networks, including LAN/WAN/VPN, routers, switches, serversExperience with RMM softwareImaging software experienceMultifactor AuthenticationDesktop-based hardware support experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10 systemsKnowledge and experience of troubleshooting and setup of computer hardware, network devices & peripheralsNetworking Experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues, DHCP, DNSExperience removing viruses/malware/spywareSelf-motivated with the ability to follow directions, complete time-sensitive tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and high stress environmentStrong planning and organizational skills; with the ability to document processes and proceduresExcellent oral and written communication skills; including the ability to interact with people at various levelsPassionate about providing excellent customer service and follow-through to completion

 

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

3+ years of providing desktop support with some in Level 2 or System AdminProfessional certifications (HDI-DST, MCSA, CompTIA A+) are a plusAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Science or related field is a plus
