Seeking an attorney to assist the internal legal team and collaborate with outside counsel to represent the Firm in litigation matters related to Chase’s residential mortgage lending business, including loan origination, servicing, and foreclosure.
DESCRIPTION
As an Associate Counsel in Home Lending Litigation, you will assist the internal legal team and work with outside counsel to represent the Firm in litigation matters. You will also provide advice on a broad range of issues related to Chase’s residential mortgage lending business. Under the guidance of senior attorneys, you will interact with and support management within the Firm. Demonstrating strong litigation skills and sound legal judgment, you will collaborate with senior attorneys to make informed decisions that deliver positive outcomes for our customers and business partners. Job Responsibilities
Manage actual and potential litigation matters. Advise on litigation issues impacting various business functions, including loan origination, servicing, and foreclosure. Oversee dispute resolution processes. Interpret existing laws, rules, and regulations, and advise on changes. Provide advocacy advice in connection with contemplated and proposed laws, rules, and regulations. Offer legal advice to the business and functional teams. Select, engage, and manage outside counsel for the Firm on all relevant matters. Prepare presentation decks and assist with various projects within Home Lending Litigation and the Legal Department.Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
Law degree and membership in a relevant jurisdictional organization. Candidates must comply with all relevant licensing requirements, including those of the jurisdiction where the role will be located, prior to commencement of employment. Ability to analyze complex legal issues, identify potential risks, and develop effective strategies. Ability to build and maintain strong client, colleague and external partners relationships. Experience managing a large caseload and multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in managing dispute resolution processes, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, is valuable. Experience researching and preparing legal documents, including basic pleadings. Strong English oral and written communication skills. Competence with legal research tools and software, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office products.Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
At least two years of legal work experience, preferably in litigation. Ability to manage a large volume of cases and balance competing priorities. Ability to assume significant independent responsibility and make informed decisions. Knowledge of and experience with complex litigation matters.Additional Information
