National MLO Sales


These duties generally include to promote and sell certain mortgage products to increase mortgage product use among banking customers and non-customers.  Source and generate customer leads, referral sources and centers of influence outside of the office to further mortgage sales and cultivate brand recognition. Attend and participate in out-of-office mortgage industry and trade related seminars, educational and client development opportunities and other associated residential mortgage related activities.  As such, certain aspects of this position require that you leave your regular work location on a weekly basis to perform your duties.  Sell mortgage products to existing and potential bank clients and non-clients contacted through different sources such as, Internet, branch referrals, Popular Bank internal referrals and walk-in clients on Bank premises by performing the following duties:

In this position, you will:

 

Serve as subject matter expert on residential mortgage related products and services and interview and provide orientation and independent assessment to clients to offer best available mortgage product.   Makes outbound calls and personal lead follow-up calls or emails to potential customers to offer mortgage products.   Handles inbound sales lead calls, emails and referrals.   Assist potential walk-in customers on Bank premises to convert into sales.   Have a direct and substantial presence in Bank branches and facilities to meet with and pre-qualify potential clients according to customers' financial capabilities.   Provide continuous and systematic in-person training, coaching and mentorship to branch and other Popular Bank internal personnel through daily interaction in scoping and identifying sales prospects and referral strategies.   Originate mortgage loan applications and facilitate the processing of same by coordinating with clients, internal units and relevant third-party vendors to ensure timely loan closings and a best-in-class client experience.   Reviews business trends and advises customers and internal partners regarding expected fluctuations.   Promotes business opportunity of other financial products and services offered by the Bank.   Builds and maintains relationships with customers, internal partners and external referral sources.   Coordinates with private bankers, financial consultants and other Bank personnel to provide coordinated and proactive best-in-class client service to existing and prospective clients.   Provide financial awareness and financial literacy training and community outreach within Bank communities through participation in independently developed presentations, seminars, etc.   Prepares reports of business transactions, forms, and agreements to complete sales.   Follow standard operating procedures and Quality Service Standards.   Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations on a timely basis. Meet or exceed established annual and monthly sales goals. To be considered, you will need:

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred Minimum of 5 years of loan consultation experience

 

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: 
This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.

Computer Skills: 
Knowledge of one or more of the following software: Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheet, Internet, Internal Business software, other related software.

Mortgage:
Knowledge of one or more of the following:  Mortgage Lending Laws and Regulations; Property Appraisal Techniques; Mortgage Lending Products and Services; Computer Assisted Mortgage Systems, and Mortgage Underwriting.

Sales:
Demonstrates knowledge in the following skills: client interviewing, sales, business opportunities, consultative sales, proposals preparation, and presentation.   Knowledge of industry applicable laws and regulations.
 

 

Salary Range Information


Our base salary for this position located in New York City generally ranges between $125,000.00 and $150,000.00​ annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits. Base salary may vary if position is based in other geographic locations.
