OverviewThe RN Supervisor is responsible for the quality of care provided for clients. Collaborates with physicians, family, caregivers, and support services to assure and improve client outcomes. Demonstrates professional management and leadership in clinical practice. Works with a high degree of independence to ensure optimal nursing, satisfaction and outcomes are achieved in a timely and efficient manner. In collaboration with the Branch Manager, the RN Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day nursing operations to ensure the quality of care & services, regulatory compliance, support of business development & growth, achievement of key performance indicators, and quality outcomes. Responsible for staff training, employee skills validation, and direct supervision of caregivers (where applicable upon state regulations). Conduct initial home visits, and supervisory visits and coordinate/implement the client’s Plan of Care.
External Job Description Oversight of Medicaid and Medicaid Waiver services including Personal Care, Nursing Visits, Reassessments, Healthy Children & Youth (HCY) and Medically Fragile Adult Waiver (MFAW). Recruitment of RNs and LPNs for staffing HCY & MFAW cases. Grow shift nursing program.Clinical supervision including orientation, training and competency evaluation of the RNs and LPNs for all 6 branches in the state. Review clinical documentation for all nursing care ensuring it is on the correct forms and meets state program regulations.Responsible for the Nursing Quality Process including-Quarterly auditsPlans of Correction (writing and implementing)Quality Improvement PlanBeing available after hours for calls with field nurses. Educating branch administrative staff on Medicaid program requirements as they relate to nursing.Train, Competency and Supervise Caregivers to provide Advanced Personal Care. Qualifications Degree in Nursing from an accredited schoolBachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Social Services, or related healthcare field of study preferredRegistered Nurse with at least 3 years of experience as either an RN or LPNOne year of experience must be as a supervisor and in the field of Pediatric NursingOne year of experience caring for the ElderlyOne year of experience supervising RNs and/or LPNsExperience in Home Care or Home HealthCurrent and unrestricted registration and license in the state of the operationCPR professional certificationMust maintain state regulatory certifications, as required by state/program requirementsFunctions within the Nursing Scope of Practice and Nurse Practice Act (NPA)Professional appearance and demeanorGeneral knowledge of computers and the ability to learn industry-specific software and documentation applicationsExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the companyExcellent organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detailsCapable of working responsibly with highly confidential informationAbility to work effectively independently or in a team environmentAbility to develop critical thinking skills, research situations, solve complex problems and deal with a variety of issuesAbility to learn and complete various educational and position-specific goals About our Line of BusinessAll Ways Caring HomeCare delivers quality, compassionate and highly individualized care and support that helps people in need of assistance stay at home – all while maximizing their dignity, privacy and independence.
