We are currently accepting applications for Homecare Private Duty RNs. Both part time and full time schedules available, must commit to at least one 8 hour shift per week. Choose where you want to work! Multiple locations available around Columbus:

Provides the direct continuous nursing care or skilled nursing visits for individual and/or groups of acute, chronically ill, and terminally ill patients in the home setting as prescribed by NCH and community physicians in compliance with regulations as established by the State Board of Nursing, Medicare / Medicaid guidelines, JC and the policies of NCHH and NCH. The care provided by the RN shall reflect the highest standards of nursing practice and shall be provided in a manner which promotes quality, continuity and safe patient care. Responsible for providing care for pediatric patients and select adult patients. Demonstrates competencies defined (*) in RN responsibilities in providing age-appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years, and select adult patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs, communicates patient care needs, priorities, updates, and changes in condition to the assigned Home Health Nurse Supervisor or Manager and as needed, to the Staffing Specialists per the policies and guidelines.
• Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
• Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement.
• Collaborates to develop an individualized care plan using standards, protocols, and current nursing literature and research. Implements and follows the individualized plan of care for each patient, which states the patient outcomes, goals, and means by which these goals will be achieved.

Qualifications

Education Requirement: A.D.N., BSN within 5 years from date of hire

Licensure Requirement:
• Ohio RN license
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Certifications: CPR

Skills:
• Position specific skills assessed at orientation and annual skill days.
• RN I skills are contingent upon experience and basic infusion care.
• RN II skills are contingent upon experience and complex infusion care.

Experience: 1 year nursing experience required.
