Interns will conduct broad policy research and quantitative and qualitative research related to housing in Boise, with a likely focus on residents’ experiences of health and safety issues and housing quality. This will require interviewing residents, housing providers, and staff at service-providing nonprofits. Interns will provide relevant policy recommendations in the form of a written report and a presentation for relevant stakeholders at the conclusion of their internship. This position is designated as At-Will. Essential Functions Required Knowledge and Experience: + Strong interest in issues related to housing. Knowledge and experience in a housing-related field is a plus, but not required. + Experience in policy advocacy, analysis, and research within the government or non-profit sector. + Flexibility and strong time management skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and implement multiple projects simultaneously and to manage tight deadlines and unexpected tasks as they arise. + Excellent written and oral communication experience as well as the ability to synthesize complex information from a variety of sources. + Experience working with diverse community partners and a proven track record of successful, mutually respectful relationships within a professional network.
