A Homemaker is a professional that provides household services (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) to those who are disabled or dependent upon a home health care program Providing household services to clients according to the care plan developed by the Registered Nurse What does a homemaker do? Assists the client with the following Household services (but not limited to): + Purchasing groceries and other household supplies + Pharmacy run/medication pickup + Provide companionship + Preparing food + Making and changing beds + Cleaning household supplies + Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping the carpet and/or floor + Cleaning the bathroom and kitchen + Washing dishes + Laundry and Ironing Observing & Reporting + Physical, mental or behavioral changes. Any changes report to the Scheduling Coordinator, Registered Nurse, LPN, Case Manager or Program Manager or Director + Changes in the family dynamic that may affect the client's overall well being + Any emergency situation; reporting of any hospitalizations or vacations by Participant + Request from the client, their family or physician for changes in service plan schedule + Maintains accurate records of daily activity of each participant + Utilize the electronic visit verification system, Skedulo, mobile app to view and accept client assignments and complete the assignment including but not limited to: utilizing geo-track to track travel time and mileage, executing all forms/tasks/etc., and obtaining required signatures Physical and Environmental Demands: May be exposed to intense external temperatures of heat and cold during peak seasons. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds. May have risk of contact with a client's blood or potentially infectious body fluids. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, gloves and a face mask for varying amounts of time. Must be able to walk, sit, stand, or perform repetitive movements for long periods of time, and bend or twist their body. Must possess the physical capabilities to perform the following: reaching, handling, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, stooping, and bending. Education, Experience and Licensure Requirements: + Must have a state valid driver's license and reliable vehicle + Must be able to travel within assigned territories + Must maintain a working smartphone with cellular data access in order to use the required scheduling system (Skedulo) + Current CPR Certification (if not, it can be provided) + Previous experience in the direct care of elders or adults with disabilities preferred + Must be able to pass a background check + Must be able to pass a required TB test and physical exam
