About the role:

You work closely with Major Crime Teams within police forces across England and Wales. The HS CYP team integrates fluidly with the HS Family and Peer Support teams to provide cohesive and effective advocacy and support service to eligible service users across England and Wales.  We also support families of British Nationals murdered abroad and so work closely with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office who refer into the HS. The successful person will have previous experience of working directly with children and young people with a sound understanding of the complexities of delivering front line services.  You should have experience of performance management and reporting.   You will be a creative, and compassionate leader who will lead by example, sharing your knowledge and expertise to support the continued development of the HS to help ensure that we always deliver support to the highest standards.  You will lead a team of CYP Caseworkers who deliver support in schools, community settings and homes.  We offer a range of interventions to CYP including one to one support (digitally and in person); Peer Support and outreach within the community.   You will demonstrate resilience and adaptability; understand the importance of professional boundaries; possess the excellent organisational skills required to manage a diverse workload with often competing priorities.  An ability to work as part of a team, as well as managing your own diary/work priorities is a must.

You will need:

Experience of developing and maintaining partnerships and pathways within a multi-agency and legislative framework Gather, analyse and use information and evidence from different sources to solve problems and report on data quality and compliance. Practical understanding of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practice and maintenance of records in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other legal requirements. Experience of working in a challenging and changing environment with an emphasis on customer focus and excellence in service delivery. Demonstrable experience of providing crisis management, support and guidance in sometimes stressful and difficult situations to a team with a client service focus. Extensive experience of effectively leading and managing a team, monitoring performance and service delivery to meet contractual requirements. Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting professionally with a range of agencies and individuals. Work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner.

This role requires regular travel, and overnight stays away from home and is considered an essential requirement.
