Hopper Welder - Dredging

WE ARE NOW OFFERING A $3K SIGN-ON BONUS!!!!!

 

A Hopper Welder performs all welding on the dredge and keeps adequate supplies in stock. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

Train to increase the scope of knowledge, skills and understanding of welder job functions on the dredge Assist the deck department with routine inspections and repairs of dredge Perform all welding repairs and maintenance aboard dredge Assist the deck crew when no welding projects are available Complete other duties as assigned Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “Incident and Injury Free” work environment

 

Qualifications:

6 months -1-year welding experience, technical training may count as experience High School diploma or equivalent required Ability to work 84-hour work week Ability to live aboard vessel for full rotation Ability to understand both verbal and written safety commands in English Be able to pass a company paid welder certification within 120 days of employment

 

Certification/Licenses:

TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Merchant Mariner Credential with the following endorsements Basic Training Valid STCW Medical Certificate VPDSD AB or QMED-Oiler (preferred) Able Seafarer-Deck or Able Seafarer-Engine (preferred)

Position is through a collective bargaining agreement between Master Mates & Pilots Union and Weeks Marine, Inc.
