HORTICUTURAL ASSISTANT IN THE NUTRIENT ECO-MANAGEMENT LAB

OPS positions, available January 22 through August 31, 2025

Job Description

• Work closely with and timely report to the faculty advisor.
• Growing plants in the high tunnel, greenhouses on campus, or field in Hastings or other locations
• Collecting and organizing soil and plant tissue samples from field or tunnel trials for chemical analysis
• Harvesting blackberries, green beans, and potatoes
• Other assignments

Expected Salary:

Starts at $13, an hour, commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements: Ability to lift approximately 30 lbs. Able to work in hot and humid outdoor/greenhouse environments Valid Florida driver’s license is required. The candidate may travel to other locations, which requires driving a vehicle. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to understand, follow, and carry out repetitive operations with minimal supervision Experience with plants and soils, greenhouse or nursery experience is ideal Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including few hours during weekends and potential emergency situations Ability to organize, coordinate, and execute work assignments Special Instructions to Applicants:
