Overview
We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator & CNA to join our hospice team. As a Volunteer Coordinator - responsible for representing the volunteers and advocating for volunteer services, identifying needs for volunteers, recruiting volunteers, and assigning volunteers with patients/families. As a CNA -
Help the patient to maintain good personal hygiene.Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.Prepare and serve light meals.Assist in feeding patient when needed.Assist the patient in ambulation.Assist with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse.Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as emptying trash and changing linens.Assist with certain treatments as ordered on the aide plan of care and as allowable in state-specific regulations.Attempt to promote patient’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.Give basic emotional and psychological support to the patient and other members of the household.Report any change in the patient’s mental or physical condition or home situation to the Registered Nurse and members of the interdisciplinary team.Demonstrate basic care to the primary caregiver.Practice infection control measures and standard precautions.Provide accurate documentation with visit itinerariesAttend staff meetings.Participate in at least one Quality Improvement activity yearly, as assigned by supervisor.Complete documentation in a timely manner as outlined in orientation.About You CNA in the state of North CarolinaBachelor’s Degree preferred or four years related experienceHealthcare/hospice or volunteer administration experience preferredPrevious volunteer experience preferredMust be able to operate computer, facsimile equipment, copier and cell phoneAbility to apply knowledge of the special needs of hospice patient and familiesSensitivity to the impact of life and death issues faced by individuals with terminal illnessCPR CertificationCurrent automobile insurance and valid driver's license We Offer Comprehensive Benefits Package: Health Insurance, 401k Plan, Tuition Reimbursement, PTOOpportunity to Participate In a Fleet ProgramCompetitive SalariesMileage ReimbursementProfessional Growth and Development Opportunities
