Hospice House Cook- Per Diem

Title: Cook

What You’ll Do:

Help dietician create menus.Demonstrates working knowledge of backing, frying, roasting, steaming, broiling, grilling, serving and carving.Prepares various food items including baked goods and desserts, meats, fish, poultry, shellfish, vegetables, garnishes, soups, and sauces according to standards.Plans and coordinates food production to meet serving schedules.Monitors foods for quality and seasoning and make corrections as needed.Utilizes and stores leftover foods according to industry standards.Schedules other kitchen help.Responsibility for tracking temps in refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher.Stock supplies and rotation of stock.Responsibility for cleaning kitchen area and regular cleaning of refrigerator and freezer.Ensures meals are delivered on time at the right temperature and following patient request.Responsible for meeting budget restrictions.

What You’ll Bring:

High school diploma preferred.Demonstrated ability to read & write.One year of cooking experience or equivalent training. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, walking, standing; occasional climbing of stairs; requires fine motor skills.
