The Intake Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the client and caregiver relationship and ultimately helps provide the “best in-home hospice and palliative care” experience for clients and employees.
Duties and Skills
Plays an integral role in interfacing with caregiver staff in ensuring the proper caregiver and client match. Ensures that all referrals are received in an accurate, detailed manner and are properly managed.
Performs various supervisory activities for scheduling appropriate nurses to clients; timecard processing, where necessary; and monitoring of telephony system and other payroll responsibilities as needed. Performs other office coordination duties.
Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and personnel management.
Maintains a positive demeanor at all times and is able to effectively multitask in a high-functioning office environment.
The ideal candidate has prior experience working in the home care industry or medical office setting.
Must be able to work with others in a team setting.
The desired candidate will possess the following:
High school graduate or equivalent with two years of business experience.
Able to work independently, demonstrating sound judgment.
Be available as required for on-call duty outside of normal office hours.
Must be able to collaborate with office staff.
This role is essential for ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care while maintaining high standards of accuracy in documentation and communication within the healthcare environment.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is essential.
Strong clerical skills with proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as HospiceMD.
Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards is necessary for maintaining patient confidentiality.
