Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.

3. Initiate and maintain the hygiene/cleanliness of the patients, the patient's environment, and the
unit environment.

5. Perform or assist with performing nutritional/hydration interventions (feeding, providing fluids,
snacks).
6. Communicate appropriate patient data to members of the interdisciplinary team.
7. Collect and record patient related data through the performance of direct care tasks.

11. Provide an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion and respect for all patients, families, and visitors. In addition, the Hospice Technician represents Hospice to patients, families and team member in a positive, professional manner.
12. Performs general transportation and courier duties, as well as other miscellaneous cross-training
tasks (such as unit secretarial duties, etc.) as directed and as assigned.
13. Performs treatments, special procedures or other special functions within the scope of his/her training and in accordance with hospital policy after additional education and completion of a specific check-off by a designated preceptor.
14. Consistently handles customer complaints promptly and effectively when problems encountered.
15. Consistently recognizes potential or real problems as they arise, presents workable solutions, and participates in their implementation, with a positive attitude. The intent and purpose of the problem solving process is to bring creativity, unity and positive team outcomes to the inpatient facility.
16. Storage and Safety of Medications: Can identify those items stored in the supply room that are considered medications (large volume IV’s, alcohol swabs, saline, medication in prepackaged kits). Demonstrates appropriate handling and storage of medications.
Qualifications /Training:
• Nursing Assistant Training Completion that includes a 75 hour Nursing Assistant Course with 16 hours being supervised practical training.
• Two or more years’ experience preferred.
• Specialization/Certification: State of South Carolina Nurse Aide registry preferred.
• Must pass a written competency test and a competency skills checklist during orientation.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:
• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program, presenting a certificate or Diploma, or State Aide License.
