Hospital Laboratory Director

LabCorp is seeking a Laboratory Director to join our team in Jacksonville, FL.  This is a great leadership opportunity, where you will have the opportunity to facilitate innovation, manage change, and foster team building to provide the highest quality product for our word-class diagnostics laboratory!  


Schedule: Monday - Friday (8a - 5p); must be flexible

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related life science  Minimum 6 years of clinical laboratory experience within a supervisory or management roleFlorida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License requiredASCP, AMT, or any other relevant laboratory certifications requiredPrior experience in a high volume, large hospital environmentFamiliar with new laboratory instrumentation and equipment automationStrong working knowledge of all areas of the lab; Core, Micro, BB & all other relevant areas preferredStrong working knowledge of supply chain operations and expense controlAbility to communicate with a heavy customer focus when working with client leadershipPrevious experience managing multiple locations is highly preferredStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, TJC and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProven success in training and developing both technical and non-technical employeesAbility to problem solve and provide solutions under minimal supervisionProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the development and execution of the laboratory structure and organizationMaintained continuous lab operations with integrity and validity for all laboratory activitiesOversee the personnel, service levels, quality measures for the laboratory operationOversee the financials; budgeting, expense control and expense management for the laboratory operationsResponsible for the hiring and development of the laboratory leadership teamParticipate in succession planning as well as development and promotion plansFocus on strengthening individuals and their capabilities to build a leadership pipelineMaintain quality accuracy and ensure all quality monitors meet laboratory objectivesEnsure that prompt corrective action is taken for all lab audit findings or deficiencies notedServe as a laboratory departmental liaison during regulatory inspections and/or client auditsConsistent communication with Senior Leadership to ensure they are aware of relevant mattersResponsible for maintaining suitable staffing levels throughout the lab and satellite locationsEnsure that the laboratory passes all audits and maintains appropriate regulatory statusEnforce applicable policies and procedures throughout the entire laboratory operation
