Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1
Job Summary: The Ambassador Program's mission is to provide outstanding customer service to all patients, family members, visitors and staff at University Hospital. Greet patients, families and visitors as they enter and issue visitor badges/hard badges in a courteous manner. This position will be housed in the main lobby of (UHCC). Candidates must be able to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks effectively in a timely and accurate manner and function under stressful situations. Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills are necessary. Duties include but are not limited to: Conducting a courteous, professional interview with patient. Gather and enter all demographic and insurance data into EPIC. Obtain required signatures, distribute forms and patient cards appropriately. Correctly identify and attach patient bracelets. Maintain patient confidentiality. Provide information and directions to patients. Escort patients in wheelchairs to their appointment as needed. Maintain knowledge of department policy and procedures and maintain an accuracy rate within established guidelines. Provide flexibility in schedule to accommodate staffing needs of the department. Will participate in cross-training in other admitting areas. Will perform support functions as necessary such as filing, assist supervisor in new employee training, etc. For consideration for this title, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: One year full-time clerical, secretarial or patient care experience in a healthcare setting. Work Days: Schedule based on a 40 hour work week. Monday-Friday, Day Shift, Must be available between the hours of 8:00am-7:00pm. Located at UHCC.
