HOSPITAL RESPONDER VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROGRAM

Summary
JOB SUMMARY: Provides direct services by means of education, advocacy and services coordination to individuals injured through or exposed to violence in order to extend the psychosocial support services of the Center for Hope Violence Intervention Programs, in collaboration with the MONSE Safe Streets Program, PAAVE (Pathways to Advocacy Against Violence Everyday) and other Center for Hope Programs. REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School Diploma, GED equivalent or High School Certificate. College degree preferred, but not required. 1-3 years of experience in crisis intervention resolution Personal knowledge of the communities and population with high rates of exposure to violence, such as at-risk youth, adults, or gang members; as well as ability to present as a credible messenger. Cultural competency. Knowledge of local resources and system navigation. Advocacy and community capacity building skills. Care coordination skills. Teaching skills to promote healthy behavior change. Knowledge of outreach methods and strategies. Ability to bridge needs and identify resources. Understanding of ethics and confidentiality issues. Ability to use and understand health information technology. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and/or on-call response, in the hospital and in the community.Additional Information
