The Opportunity

Employment Type:Casual     FTE Hours of Work: 8 am to 4:15 pmWages:$22.51/hour

You will be responsible for maintaining a healthy, clean and organized working environment in the kitchen, resident rooms, restrooms, and utility rooms. You will be responsible for the preparation and serving of meals, special diets and snacks. You will participate in team meetings and assignments, recommend changes and improvements for the department and assist other employees as required.

Grade 10 or equivalent. A Food Safe level 1 certificate is required. (Post July 29, 2013) or equivalenet for BC employees and Food Safety Certificate or equivalent for Alberta employees. Knowledge of institutional dietary duties, including food preparation and service is an asset. Housekeeping/environmental experience is an asset. You are a strong communicator able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English. You are exceptionally well organized yet flexible and can adapt as required. You are able to work as a member of a team maintaining good interpersonal relationships.  Experience working with the elderly and disabled is
preferred. Computer skills an asset.

Requirements:

A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and Clearance Letter prior to the hire date. A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
