ARSIEM is looking for a Host-based Systems Analyst. This position will support one of our Government clients in Arlington, VA.ResponsibilitiesAssists with leading and coordinating forensic teams in a preliminary investigationPlans, coordinates, and directs the inventory, examination, and comprehensive technical analysis of computer-related evidenceDistills analytic findings into executive summaries and in-depth technical reportsServes as technical forensics liaison to stakeholders and explains investigation details to include forensic methodologies and protocolsTracks and documents onsite incident response activities and provides updates to leadership throughout the engagementEvaluates, extracts, and analyzes suspected malicious codeMinimum Qualifications7-9 years host investigations or digital forensics experience with a High school diploma orBachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 5-7 years of host-based investigations or digital forensics experiencePossess GCIH, GCFA, and GREMCore CompetenciesKnowledge of incident response and handling methodologiesKnowledge of the NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System to be able to prioritize triaging of incidentKnowledge of general attack stages (e.g., footprinting and scanning, enumeration, gaining access, escalation of privileges, maintaining access, network exploitation, covering tracks, etc.)Skill in recognizing and categorizing types of vulnerabilities and associated attacksKnowledge of basic system administration and operating system hardening techniquesKnowledge of Computer Network Defense policies, procedures, and regulationsKnowledge of different operational threat environments (e.g., first-generation [script kiddies], second generation [non nation-state sponsored], and third-generation [nation-state sponsored])Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities (e.g., buffer overflow, mobile code, cross-site scripting, PL/SQL and injections, race conditions, covert channel, replay, return-oriented attacks, and malicious codeClearance Requirement: This position requires an Active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD) Suitability.
