Job Description
The Baggage Handler at the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest service by assisting with luggage handling, storage, and transport. This position involves greeting guests, safely managing luggage, providing information about hotel amenities, and supporting overall guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be organized, courteous, and attentive, ensuring a positive first and last impression for all hotel visitors.
Responsibilities
Greeting guests warmly, assist with unloading and loading luggage, and ensure a positive first impression of the hotel.
Safely transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms, the lobby, and designated storage areas, following hotel protocols.
Deliver amenities, parcels, and special requests to guest rooms promptly and courteously.
Tag, store, and retrieve luggage in the hotel's storage area, maintaining an organized and secure system.
Assist with loading and unloading luggage from hotel shuttles or guest vehicles, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
Follow safety procedures, including lifting techniques and securing luggage properly, to prevent injuries or damage.
Coordinate with the front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient guest service and room readiness.
Address guest concerns regarding luggage handling or storage, escalating issues to the supervisor as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby, luggage storage area, and surrounding spaces.
Wear proper uniform at all times as specified in associate handbook.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Ability to move heavy items
Ability to enter and maneuver within tight spaces.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multitask.
Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English.
This contract requires a flu shot to be administered pre-hire and annually thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Preference will be given to those candidates with at least six (6) months of experience in the hospitality industry, hospital and/or contract cleaning.
