Overview Houston Marriott Westchase is looking for a Full-Time PM Restaurant Busser/Food Expediter About Us: About Us: At Pyramid Global Hospitality, we believe in the power of our team members. Position Summary: This is a dual job role, working as both the PM restaurant busser and food expediter. As a Restaurant Busser/Barback, you are responsible for clearing tables, resetting them for new guests, carrying dishes to the kitchen and helping with general cleanliness and well as assisting the bar with glassware, ice refills, and bar setup. As a Food Expediter, you assist the restaurant servers in delivering guest food orders to the tables, in addition, assist the kitchen in delivering meals to guest hotel rooms. The successful candidate understands the importance of performing essential job duties and delivering quality customer service with professionalism while maintaining a high sense of urgency; has a can-do attitude and is proactive jumping in where assistance is needed without delay. Scheduling: This is a PM Full-Time position that requires open availability to work, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs. The PM shifts start at 2:00 PM and the last shift ends at Midnight, with occasional shifts lasting until 2:00 AM for special events. Work schedules will change weekly to support operational requirements. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks in both job functions: Memorize table numbers and seat numbers of the dining room and bar. Maintain stock, organization and cleanliness of kitchen line, restaurant stations, and lobby bar with necessary items including beverages, silverware, linen and condiments. Follow sanitary rules and food safety regulations Inform guest server of order changes or request, management of customer feedback or complaints Complete ongoing required training and development to maximize potential. Follow company procedures and follow required best practices and exceed brand standards. In addition, in the busser/barback role you will primarily be responsible for: Preparing dining areas: Decorating tables with linens, dinnerware, and placing tableware and condiments on tables. Clearing tables: Removing dirty utensils and dishes, clearing tables between courses and when guests leave Resetting tables: Ensuring tables are clean and set for the next guests Replenishing supplies: Keeping the restaurant, lobby bar and kitchen line stocked Assisting servers: Helping servers’ clear plates and refilling beverages Assisting bartenders: Stocking bar items, glassware and assisting bartender in the day-to-day activities. In addition, in the food expediter role you will primarily be responsible for: Quickly bringing food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables, reviewing order ticket for accuracy. Ensure the meal is plated correctly and follow established practices for plate setup. Communicate food orders to chefs and pay attention to priorities like food allergies. Immediately communicate a guest request or order changes to the server or kitchen manager. Learn hotel guest room numbers and layout. Follow proper standards and etiquette for room service deliveries with the utmost professionalism, respect and confidentiality. * This list is not all inclusive, additional job functions will be shared during interviews. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. Due to the seasonal nature and business hours of a hotel, candidates must realize it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands. All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements. Qualifications Ability to speak, hear, read, and comprehend instructions, both written and oral, in fluent English with ability to convey information and ideas clearly. Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and respond with a sense of urgency when necessary. Moves about the restaurant, lobby bar, kitchen and hotel guest rooms, for duration of 8-hour shift. Extend arms; frequent reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, and stooping and moving up to 50 lbs. to perform essential job functions. Repeatedly ascend/descend stairs moving trays and racks of glassware up to 50 lbs. Ability to observe and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross-contamination protocols, and sanitation. Knowledge of key customer service behaviors. Enjoy working with others - this position not only interfaces daily with hotel guest and team members in the restaurant, bar, and kitchen, but also, members in the front office, guest relations, concierge lounge, hotel outlets, and many different hotel associates. Experience Hotel or restaurant busser, server, and/or food runner experience in a full-service dining restaurant, preferably in a full-service hotel or in fine dining. Licenses or Certificates Ability to provide or obtain both the Food Safety Handler License and TABC Certificate, issued by an accredited vendor training program in the state of Texas. Ability to provide or obtain the Texas Food Safety Handler Certificate. Ability to provide or obtain the Texas TABC Certification License. Grooming/Uniforms All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
