HOTEL SALES COORDINATOR GREAT NEXT STEP FOR A FRONT DESK AGENT LOOKING TO GROW IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY

Summary: The Hotel Sales Coordinator works closely with the District Sales Manager and Hotel Teams to promote and sell guest rooms to build hotel occupancy and revenue. Primary focus is inside sales and includes: Creating LNR and Group contracts, input into the Property Management System, overseeing some group and LNR stays, prospecting. Making some pro-active sales calls for new business, etc. in coordination with the District Sales Manager may include some travel to assist with Sales Blitz’s and other promotional opportunities. Presents a high standard of integrity, service and hospitality at all times.

 

Review and understand the Marketing Plan and Strategies with the District Sales Manager and Hotel Teams to obtain maximum occupancy levels and revenue levels.

Provides exceptional customer service to each and every guest with particular attention paid to corporate guests and groups.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Sales

1. Make sure all aspects of guest stays and/or events meet or exceed guest expectations. Explore client’s needs: rooms, suites, meeting space, desired dates, day of week patterns.

2. Negotiate with clients – meeting space (only when guest rooms are booked) and room rates based on room volume booked whether group or on an annual basis.

3. Book new individual business accounts in property management system and coordinate with the District Sales Manager.

Customer Relationship Management

4. Once a customer leaves the hotel, the sales coordinator’s duties continue, as they work to turn the consumer or business client into a repeat customer. This might include offering discounts on future stays or functions, or offering referral credit for business the customer sends the hotel’s way. The sales coordinator usually holds a post-event review with business clients to make sure they were happy with their functions, then calls or sends periodic emails throughout the year to stay in front of guests and clients.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

· Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

· Ability to negotiate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
