HOURLY MECHANIC

JBS- SOUDERTON, PENNSYLVANIA

 Key Responsibilities and Accountability include but are not limited to:

Essential Job Functions:

Inspect and test machinery to ensure proper functioningInspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear replacing worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts as neededDismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, and hand tools, or power toolsDisassemble equipment for maintenance or repairOperate hoists or other moving or lifting equipmentPerform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other preventive maintenanceInspect mechanical components to identify problemsTrouble shoot electrical controls and components and repair as needed

Experience Required:

2-3 years of industrial electrical experience in a food industry environment preferred2-3 years of ammonia refrigeration operation in a food industry environment preferred

 

Skills/Abilities Required:

Basic computer skillsMust be able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, work with a variety of hand and power tools and shop machinesMust be able to work in extreme temperaturesKnowledge of manufacturing/packaging equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders, labeling equipment and conveyorsMust demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to learn quicklyMust be able to work flexible hours, overtime and some weekends
