Where We Are:

Position Summary:

Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.Provides direct care as needed. Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.Responds to complaints about patient care and related services and manages through established channels.Performs role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.Assists with chart audits and provides feedback to staff as needed completes all required modules to fulfill preceptor requirements.Assists Nursing leaders with performance improvement initiatives for units.Assists Director with various reports, project, and regulatory compliance.Must learn EMR system and be able to mentor staff and providers in the system.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing required.Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Certifications: New hires must have current BLS and ACLS upon hire. Staff are required to obtain PALS/ENPC within six (6) months from hire. New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications. Notwithstanding this ‘grace period’ for obtaining American Heart Association certifications, employees are not excused from being current in all existing certifications that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description.Licenses: Current NM RN licensure or appropriate RN Compact licensure to start.
