Housekeeper
**Job Title: Housekeeper** **Job Description** As a housekeeper, you will be assigned to a specific floor and given a checklist of duties to complete each day. You will be responsible for cleaning public restrooms, sinks, counters, and removing garbage, as well as refilling supplies. Your tasks will also include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping linens from beds, and making beds. When cleaning patient-occupied rooms, you will introduce yourself to the patient, inquire if they need anything, and communicate their needs to the nurse or doctor. **Responsibilities** + Clean public restrooms, sinks, and counters + Remove garbage and refill supplies + Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors + Strip linens from beds and transport them to the laundry chute + Make beds and perform other cleaning tasks as required + Introduce yourself to patients, inquire about their needs, and communicate with nurses or doctors + Leave a card with your name and the EVS department's phone number for the patient **Essential Skills** + Housekeeping + Cleaning + Janitorial + Sanitizing + Mopping + General labor + Custodial **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + No experience required + Must be a dedicated and strong worker with a good attitude + Punctual and reliable, able to work required hours and shifts + Excellent communication skills + Excellent customer service skills + Ability to work with difficult people and diverse backgrounds + Able to follow safety requirements + Able to lift 50 lbs and push 200 lbs + Available to work weekends and locked down on shift + Previous hospital cleaning/housekeeping experience preferred + Strong attention to detail + Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment **Why Work Here?** + Free medical and dental coverage for employees (minimal cost for dental) + Up to 50% tuition reimbursement + Opportunities for career advancement within the company after 6 months + Free monthly bus pass if needed **Work Environment** You will work throughout the hospital. The environment is fast-paced and can be stressful, with tasks performed in various departments such as doctors' offices, patient rooms, post-partum, emergency, behavioral health, dialysis, orthopedics, and critical care. You must be comfortable being around sick patients, including those with infections or diseases.
