What you will Do
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Schedules work rosters, assigns, and schedules work to be accomplished and checks quality and quantity of work to ensure that supplies and related equipment are available to effectively carry out the facility mission.
Identifies organizational manpower needs through analysis of required work and effectiveness of response (census, dismissals, snow, etc.).
Monitors, maintains, and modifies the preventative maintenance of all cleaning and floor care.
Directs and supervises the Department Staff by interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and if necessary, disciplining Environmental Services employees.
Supervises and documents through daily reports, either personally or through delegation, the work accomplished by the various sections, noting efficiency, spot-checking the work turned out for compliance with department specifications, noting both quantity and quality.
Assists in the preparation of the budget for the Environmental Services Department and monitors all department expenditures.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires bachelor’s degree in hospitality, industrial business, waste management or a related field; would consider 2 years of related environmental experience for every year of education in lieu of formal education.
Requires a minimum of 1-2 years prior supervisory experience and working knowledge of environmental services.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Joint Commission, Federal, State and local law regulations and codes related to safety and sanitation of the environment including bio-hazardous and infectious waste management.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, presentation skills, advanced analytical skills, be well organized and maintain a highly professional manner and appearance.
Strong interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills to initiate and develop productive collaborative partnership with all levels of leadership across the organization. Ability to effectively influence results, garner support and tactfully manage complex relationships within and across the organization. Extremely high level of diplomacy and tact are required. Ability to read the subtle nuances of situation and react/plan accordingly.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
