Position Purpose
\n\n\nThe Housekeeping Team Leader is responsible for supervising and guiding the housekeeping team to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas. This role is crucial in delivering high standards of cleanliness and ensuring the efficient operation of the housekeeping department while maintaining an exceptional guest experience. The Team Leader will support the Housekeeping Supervisor in managing daily operations, handling guest requests, and leading by example to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
\n\nDuties & Key Responsibilities
\n\n\n\n\nTeam Supervision: Supervise and lead a team of housekeeping attendants, ensuring that they meet the hotel’s cleaning standards and that tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoom Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are being met. Provide feedback and guidance to team members on areas for improvement.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuest Service: Address guest requests or concerns related to housekeeping in a professional and timely manner. Ensure that guest rooms are prepared according to their preferences and that special requests are handled promptly.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTraining and Development: Assist in training and onboarding new housekeeping staff. Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback to staff to ensure high standards of performance and service.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStaff Scheduling and Attendance: Assist in creating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. Monitor attendance, track time-off requests, and manage shift changes as needed.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInventory and Supplies Management: Ensure that housekeeping supplies and equipment are stocked and maintained. Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHealth & Safety Compliance: Ensure that housekeeping staff follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols. Ensure that cleaning agents, equipment, and procedures are used safely and in compliance with hotel policies.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProblem Solving: Resolve any issues related to housekeeping services, such as guest complaints, maintenance requests, or staff challenges, in a professional and efficient manner.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuality Control: Ensure that all housekeeping activities meet the hotel’s cleanliness standards. Perform periodic deep cleaning and other special cleaning assignments as needed.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCollaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with other hotel departments, including the Front Desk and Maintenance teams, to ensure smooth communication regarding room status, guest requests, and maintenance issues.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdministrative Support: Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in administrative tasks, such as maintaining cleaning logs, tracking room status reports, and preparing reports on departmental activities.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements
\n\n\n\n\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStrong leadership and team management skills.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbility to inspect and assess cleanliness standards with a keen attention to detail.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbility to multitask, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProficiency in using hotel property management systems (PMS) and other relevant software is a plus.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbility to handle guest concerns and complaints in a calm and professional manner.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA positive and proactive attitude, with a focus on guest satisfaction and team performance.
\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.

\n\n\n\n\nQualifications
\n\n\n\n\nPrevious experience in housekeeping or a similar role within the hospitality industry, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
