**Job Summary**
The Department of Communication and Media at the University of Michigan seeks applications for the Howard R. Marsh Visiting Professorship in Journalism for the fall and winter terms of the 2025-2026 academic year (August 25, 2025 ? April 30, 2026).
**Responsibilities***
The Marsh Visiting Professor will teach two courses per term, engage in additional dialogue with students and faculty, pursue current professional or scholarly interests, and contribute to the direction of the Howard R. Marsh Center for the Study of Journalistic Performance. The Center, located in the Department of Communication and Media, supports scholarly research on democratic functions of the news media. In addition, the Marsh Visiting Professor gives a public lecture during the winter term.
**Required Qualifications***
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Significant journalism experience
+ Ability to contribute to the education of students who are studying long-range factors affecting the ability of the news media to perform their functions in a democratic society, including press and government relationships, the economics of the news business, and the recruitment and career mobility of professional journalists
**Desired Qualifications***
+ Master's degree
