Job Purpose
For a newly created role, we are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Human Resource Assistant, reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). This role is broad and involves various responsibilities aimed at ensuring smooth operations and aligning effort across the areas of HR. This role demands a combination of strong technical skills, an ability to manage executive-level tasks, and effective community engagement. The successful candidate will ensure smooth and efficient operations, aid in strategic planning, and foster relationships with EnerSys and Reading community stakeholders.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHR Leadership Support:
Assist in developing and refining HR policies and procedures in line with legal and compliance requirements. Help coordinate executive-level HR initiatives such as succession planning, executive recruitment, and talent management. Support in the creation of presentations, reports, and documents for board meetings and other executive forums. Consolidate monthly HR spend and review against budget. Support in drafting and sending HR and related organizational announcements. Manage HR inbox. Manage HR distribution list. Administrate HR Town Halls and other meetings as needed. May include the collection, editing and organizing of presentations/power point slides. Support of calendar, room scheduling, etc. Manage HR Teams sites and members. Facilitate the appropriation request (AR) process for HR. Enter HR invoices in ActiveWorx.HR Operations:
Manage the annual HR calendar, schedule global/HR team meetings, partner on and distribute communications from HR. Assist in monitoring HR department goals, initiatives, and projects (example: the transition from intranet to BaseCamp). Handle confidential information with discretion Coordinate/oversee HR reporting, including workforce analytics, compliance tracking, and performance metrics. Administration of the charitable giving program. Technical support for manager portal (in development). Gatekeeper for HR Policy site. Part of team for phone/kiosk/visitors/case management.Reading Site & Community Engagement:
Owner EnerSys Giving Back / charitable giving. Represent the organization at community events, public forums, and/or HR-related conferences. Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations, educational institutions, and workforce development agencies. Partner with local stakeholders to support recruitment, employee development, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Act as a liaison between the company and the community, ensuring alignment of company values with local needs. Own Reading specific activities such as Inclement Weather, Reading Service Awards and participate in EnerSys Connections Committee. Coordinate annual Holiday Calendar. Other administrative support as needed (example: HR supply ordering, mail, etc.)Technical HR Support:
Leverage HR information systems (HRIS), data analytics, and tools to optimize HR processes. Support the implementation and/or maintenance of HR technologies and platforms. Develop dashboards and reports for monitoring workforce data, such as employee engagement, turnover, and retention.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR experience equivalent (5+ years of experience in human resources, with 3 years in an executive support role) Technical proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday, SAP, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, etc. Proven ability to manage high-level projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and in the community. Demonstrated commitment to community involvement and corporate social responsibility. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement. Ability to use discretion in judgement and hold sensitive information in confidentiality.Other Advantageous Skills and Abilities
Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR). Experience in community relations or public affairs. Knowledge of employment laws, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
