Job Summary
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and approachable HR Assistant to support the human resources team for our client in Oswego, IL. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a competitive hourly rate of $22.00. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily HR operations, providing administrative support, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the department. Key Responsibilities
+ Employee Records: Maintain and update employee files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.
+ New Hire Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation schedules, and ensuring a seamless employee experience.
+ Recruiting Support: Post job openings, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and assist with communication between candidates and hiring managers.
+ Payroll Support: Assist with timekeeping data, employee payroll discrepancies, and ensuring proper documentation for payroll processing.
+ Benefits Administration: Provide employees with general information on benefit programs and assist with benefits enrollment or updates.
+ Compliance: Ensure all HR practices comply with state, federal, and company regulations, such as maintaining I-9 forms and other mandated documents.
+ Employee Communications: Serve as a resource for employee questions and concerns, escalating issues to the HR Manager as needed.
+ Reports & Documentation: Create and maintain HR reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, attendance) as needed.
+ Administrative Duties: Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, maintaining calendars, and other clerical tasks.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Education: Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree is preferred.
+ Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in an HR or administrative support role. Exposure to recruiting, onboarding, or compliance is a plus.
+ Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word. Experience with HRIS or ATS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, or BambooHR) is preferred.
+ Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Attention to Detail: Ability to handle sensitive employee data with accuracy and discretion.
