HR ASSISTANT (CLASSIFICATION) (TITLE 5)
Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HR ASSISTANT (CLASSIFICATION) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5934000 and is part of the IL HRO AF, National Guard. Responsibilities As a HR ASSISTANT (CLASSIFICATION) (TITLE 5), GS-0203-7, you will provide limited technical assistance to Human Resources Specialists servicing both Army (ARNG) and Air National Guard (ANG) organizations and the full-time workforce within the state. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Perform classification reviews by gathering information through position reviews and organization charts. Answer general questions from supervisors and employees regarding procedures for classification change actions. Process incoming Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs). Screen requests, documents, and reports for completeness and accuracy. Input data into the Automated Personnel System. Research, validate, and provide information on position descriptions. Obtain records and statistical data to use for reports. Compile and track program indicators. Maintain position review records, applicable source documents, organization charts, and position descriptions. Monitor and ensure timely implementation of classification releases. Assist in fact-finding investigations, researching pertinent guidance to assist in problem resolution and drafting responses to inquiries regarding requirements of proposed actions. Assist in validating funding and certifying position is valid and vacant. Requirements Conditions of Employment Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Subject to provisions of DoD Priority Placement Program. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. IAW The Fair Chance Act, Agency employees may not request criminal history information at the point of initial application, upon receipt of an application, or prior to, during or after a job interview. If an Optional Form (OF) 306, Declaration of Employment is submitted prior to the point of a conditional offer, questions related to background information section may not be asked. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGB-J1). Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be available for this position. PCS expenses may be authorized. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position with experience using computer and automation systems. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-7 Level MUST possess at least 1-year of experience equivalent to the GS-5 Level; specialized experience is experience that has prepared you to perform the duties of the position, such as gather information from position reviews and organization charts, advise on classification change actions, process Request for Personnel Actions (RPAs), etc. Verbiage displayed on your resume or application must contain your own words.
