The HR Business Partner will be a key member of the US HR team, responsible for developing and driving HR priorities within the US that support critical strategic objectives. Requires an ability to partner with key leaders across the US and translate business needs into HR processes and systems that deliver results. The incumbent will need to balance both strategic leadership and tactical HR support to the businesses. As a champion of AES values, the HR Business Partner helps craft the organizational culture and climate that sets the organization up for success.

Qualifications:           

5+ years in Human Resources, including demonstrated ability to partner with the business leaders to develop solutions and drive positive outcomesExperience working in a union environment and/or coordinating a labor agreementExperience within the energy industry preferred; or demonstrated ability to learn quicklyBachelor degree requiredStrong communication skills – written, oral, interpersonalMust be detail oriented and have analytical problem-solving capabilities and critical thinking skillsSelf-starter who deals well with ambiguityStrong presence and confidence to engage directly, constructively, and with credibility with leaders at all levelsChange agent; demonstrated ability to identify gaps, position solutions, and promote adoption and positive changeSuccessfully navigate between tactical and strategic objectivesExperience in developing and delivering HR programsSolid understanding of the value each HR subject area bringsHandles confidentiality without exceptionProven reputation of relationship building/networkingStrategic thinking; understanding of the SBU strategy and key financial and operational drivers and dynamicsAgility; ability to work at a fast pace and shift focus quickly

Responsibilities:

Implements people programs and policiesUses talent tools and advises critical actionsAdvises and coaches leadersApplies analytics to inform data-driven decisions and positive talent outcomesEngages directly with leaders at all levelsBuilds and leads resource plans to inform how we will meet talent needsPartners with HR Centers of Expertise and HR Operations team to develop and deliver solutions and programsDevelops a deep understanding of the talent market and leverages that knowledge to inform talent acquisition strategyPromotes diversity and inclusion; implements D&I strategyInforms & participates in the development & execution of workforce plansIdentifies development needs for the groups they supportsServes as escalation point and subject matter expert for employee and labor relations issues for supported groupsPromotes the completion of periodic people processes – ensures leaders are using tools and resources to drive improved talent outcomes & a positive culture where people feel valued and respected, and have visibility to a career pathAmbassador of the AES employer brandPartners with internal communications to ensure timely, relevant, consumable communicationsSupports various change management projects as necessaryStrong active participation in labor relations function to include day-to-day guidance to leadership of accurate labor agreement administration, oversight of the grievance process (including third step grievances), assists in preparation for labor agreement negotiations, may be required to participate in negotiations and/or arbitration.
