POSITION SUMMARY: As the HR Business Partner - In San Jose, CA you will support the Human Resources department in various ways, including processing company payroll. You will also be asked to assist with managing recruitment, hiring, retention, and termination processes, reviewing incident reports, communicating information to field employees, conducting research, gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, and assisting with legal compliance matters. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

\n\n\nKEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
\nInternal and External Service HR:
\n\n\nCollect and compile HR metrics and data from various sources, including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.
\n\n\nAnalyze data and statistics for trends and patterns, focusing on recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
\n\n\nPrepare reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
\n\n\nIdentify and recommend reasonable short—and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics. Based on metrics and analysis, make recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture, including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, motivate and retain employees, address staffing issues, and maintain legal compliance.
\n\n\nFacilitate implementation of new training, development, recruiting, and other related initiatives.
\n\n\nAssist with recruitment, hiring, retention and termination processes, including drafting job descriptions, reviewing candidates and conducting interviews.
\n\n\nMay conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt.
\n\n\nAssist with preparation of various annual reports required for governmental authorities.
\n\n\nResearching, recommending and implementing best practices.
\n\n\nMay assist HR leadership with staffing, recruiting, and departmental budgets.
\n\n\nMay guide and/or assist with performance, benefit, and compensation review and evaluation processes.
\n\n\nMeets with employees in the field to identify and review employee needs and issues.
\n\n\nPrepare and conduct training for field employees.
\n\n\nAssist with various legal and compliance matters.
\n\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.
\n\n\nInternal and External Service Payroll:
\n\n\nWill enter, maintain, and/or process information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
\n\n\n\n\nWill ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
\n\n\n\n\nWill reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
\n\n\n\n\nWill issue, or reissue, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
\n\n\n\n\nWill record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits.
\n\n\nMust have strong working knowledge of (iSloved,).
\n\n\nRestaurant software awareness (including without limitation, Dine, eRestaurant, xformity and Altametrics).
\n\n\n\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
\n\n
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
\n\n\nBachelor or higher degree in Human Resources, Business Administration,or related field required.
\n\n\nTwo years of experience in payroll processing.
\n\n\nCommitment to payroll best practices and regulations, including knowledge of payroll law/regulations.
\n\n\nExercises sound judgment and exhibit strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
\n\n\nDisplays exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with particular attention to confidentiality.
