Synopsis of the role
At Equifax, the Summer 2025 HR Generalist co-op, a 15-week co-op program, is a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students who are currently pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree. The program provides meaningful projects with direct impact on our business as well as exposure to senior leaders and opportunities to network. Equifax is recruiting a highly motivated student with strong collaboration and communication skills for our Human Resources Generalist Co-op. Our aim is to give you a broad experience across many aspects of Human Resources work rather than in a single specialty. There is the opportunity to customize your experience somewhat, to your particular interests.
The 15 week co-op program runs from May 6th, 2025 to August 22nd, 2025.
Co ops are required to follow our hybrid onsite policy of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - onsite for the duration of the 15 - week program.
Monday and Friday are remote work days.
Co ops must be local to the Toronto/ Montreal area and have the ability to commute to our office in Toronto / Montreal based on where the role is.
What you’ll do
Partner with a number of Human Resources Professionals across our HR team to support projects and on-going business needs in a variety of areas (Human Resources Business Partners, Learning & Development, Recruitment, Benefits, Compensation)
Partner with our HRBP leaders to address different internal business client needs as they arise, including participating in our annual compensation process, various compensation exercises, employee relations, onboarding and other employee lifecycle initiatives
Support the on-going actions pertaining to our Human Resources priorities per our annual performance management cycle
Assist with our People Manager calls where we provide just-in-time information and training pertinent to current priorities
Be actively involved in recruitment by posting ads, interviewing candidates and scheduling interviews, creating engaging external advertisements, screening candidates and if willing and able, managing a couple of requisitions on your own
Assist with the development and communication of various training and development initiatives
Champion the review of health and safety compliance; contributing to the enhancement and development of local training and resources
Participate in activities leveraging data to understand the nature of a data-driven approach to HR decision-making
Provide administrative support and tasks for the Human Resources team
Additional duties and projects as assigned, and per aptitude and interest
What experience you need
Currently enrolled in a University or College program in HR or in a business program with an HR specialty
Strong communication skills, written and verbal; bilingual in French an asset
Adaptable to technology, experience with Google workspace is an asset
Passion for and interest in Human Resources as a profession or career
Able to handle multiple demands simultaneously
High level of initiative, curiosity, creativity, energy and self-confidence
Proven commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
Strong team player and relationship builder
