Typical Duties and Responsibilities: + Provides guidance to managers and employees regarding workplace relation issues. + Makes recommendations on and prepares corrective, disciplinary and adverse actions. + Works with Judge Advocate General (JAG) office to prepare responses to agency EEOC and/or GCEO claims. + Responds to requests for production of documents and represents the agency in Unemployment Insurance hearings. + Processes, investigates, and responds to employee grievances. + Develops, maintains, and updates agency policies in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. + Management and Coordination of Compliance within various areas including FMLA, Sexual Harassment Training and Random Drug Testing; Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: + Five years experience in handling complex employee relation issues; + Five years of experience reviewing, composing, and revising HR policies. + Experience in Human Resources within Georgia state government or another public sector, with positions of increasing responsibility.
