HR Compliance Lead

Responsibilities The HR Compliance Lead is a critical role at Post, supporting the enterprise’s ability to adhere to all relevant benefits and employment laws and regulations. This position requires a thorough understanding of labor laws, benefits laws, company policies, and industry standards. This role is instrumental in collaborating across the enterprise with HR leadership within the operating companies to improve awareness, understanding and compliance of applicable federal and state laws on HR operations. This role will also partner closely with the Total Rewards teams to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. By developing robust compliance programs, conducting thorough audits, and providing ongoing support and education to employees, the HR Compliance Lead helps to create a safe, lawful, and productive workplace. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES Leadership Lead the HR Compliance team by setting priorities and expectations and providing ongoing coaching and support for professional growth Partners with HR across the operating companies to maintain and improve compliance within various HR processes and programs Lead timely and accurate data production for business and/or legal/regulatory requests in partnership with key stakeholders Review new human resources products, systems, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state law in partnership with Legal and third-party consultants Support ad hoc compliance projects related to M&A as needed Policy Management Develop and update company policies to align with current employment laws and regulations Ensure that all HR policies are communicated effectively to employees and management Design and implement training programs to educate employees about compliance issues and company policies Develop and deliver presentations to employees, as needed, on various compliance matters Compliance Monitoring and Auditing Oversee the timely execution of regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements Monitor compliance with labor laws, benefits regulations, and other relevant standards, advising HR Leadership on changes Investigate and resolve compliance issues or violations, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken, escalating to HR leadership as needed Total Rewards Assist with the development, distribution, and compliance of applicable IRS filings, including Forms 1094-C and 1095-C Oversee the timely reporting and certification of pay data under applicable state laws Assist with the review and compliance of applicable pay transparency and pay equity laws Equal Opportunity Oversee the maintenance and oversight of the affirmative action program Oversee the timely and accurate filing of federal and state reports including, EEO-1 reports Oversee the resolution of data discrepancies to enhance the accuracy of reporting Background Review and Immigration Oversee the I-9 and background review and auditing process in partnership with the operating companies to ensure all policies and procedures are followed in compliance with applicable law Risk Management Identify potential compliance risks, develop strategies to mitigate them, and partner with applicable parties to ensure successful adoption Work closely with legal counsel to address any legal issues that arise Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations that may affect the organization Inform and educate senior leadership on new compliance requirements, matters and trends Reporting and Documentation Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and investigations Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible for review by regulatory agencies Employee Relations and Support Serve as a point of contact for employees with complex questions or concerns about compliance issues Provide guidance and support to HR staff and management on compliance-related matters Foster a culture of compliance within the organization by promoting ethical behavior and adherence to policies Perform other related work as required or requested. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in a related field Minimum of 5-7 years HR-related experience Minimum of 3 years relevant compliance experience Minimum of 3 years people management experience Experience in conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments Compliance-specific certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) is advantageous Understanding of federal and state laws and regulations related to HR compliance, including but not limited to OFCCP rules and regulations on Affirmative Action Plans, I-9 rules and regulations, and ERISA rules and regulations Excellent verbal and written communicator who can be clear, concise, influence others and move work forward Ability to analyze complex legal and compliance issues and develop effective solutions Meticulous approach to documentation, reporting, and monitoring compliance activities Strong problem-solving skills to address compliance challenges and implement corrective actions Able to plan, execute and oversee a project from start to finish Build and maintain positive, supportive working relationships, internally and externally, at all levels Capability to lead and train HR staff and promote a culture of compliance within the organization Travel: 5%
