The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace. Corning’s Values are operationalized by the HR Function through the facilitation of Talent Management offerings, as well as programs and processes that aid in making Corning’s Values visible. **Role Purpose** This role encompasses human resource functions such as employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, organizational development, affirmative action, and health and safety services programs. **Key Responsibilities** + Fulfill the role as the plant’s Trusted Agent and Data Steward, comprising of the generation and oversight of employee personnel records and transactions. + Supports the coordination of efforts across assigned groups to establish and maintain a positive work environment and operate as “One Corning” in support of Corning values. + Serve as local expert in key HR systems including Kronos, TrueBlue, Blueline, OneModel, etc. + Supports the plant HR manager in Erwin and IDM to ensure that the plants have the right talent to execute the plant’s strategy and achieve desired business results. + Prepares HR analytics for reporting to site and division leadership (headcount, diversity, recognition, etc.) + Assists in successful implantation of global HR business processes in the plant. + Ensures plant compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines. + Takes ownership of specific HR initiatives that support the effective operations of the organization by developing and or delivering HR programs (e.g. attendance tracking, training, and employee communications). + Partner with the Medical department and MetLife to support workers compensation cases, FMLA and Disability cases and recordkeeping. + Assists in leading various assessment practices like surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, to regularly define opportunities for growth and development. + Support the hiring & onboarding processes for hourly and salaried employees (paperwork compliance, organization announcements, new hire orientation, training, etc.) **Experiences/Education - Required** + At least 2+ years of combined HR/Admin experience (generalist/specialist) or equivalent + Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Psychology or equivalent experience in lieu of degree. + Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, PowerBI, Etc. + Ability to review data, draw conclusions, and communicate points of view on data gathered + High level of interpersonal skills (serves as a key liaison between HR and employees); able to build rapport, be approachable, resourceful, and responsive + Ability to create “client/business-ready” PowerPoint decks + Experience managing employee data in Success Factors preferred. + Demonstrated hands-on self-starter with capability to juggle multiple priorities. + Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, allowing for communication across entire organization. + Ability to operate with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion. + HR Service Orientation + Working knowledge of business / financial acumen + Strong problem-solving skills + Strong process / process improvement orientation with Greenbelt / Six Sigma experience a plus **This position does not support immigration sponsorship.** The range for this position is $51,491.00 - $70,801.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
