HR Coordinator

Worthington Steel is excited to have an HR Coordinator join our team! This individual will provide overall human resource and benefit administrative support to Worthington Steel's Rome facility. Responsibilities include recruiting, staffing and onboarding process, employee engagement, training program administration and general management of human resource policies and practices.
The ideal candidate is an individual that is eager to develop in their HR career. This position is 100% on-site, in a heavy-manufacturing setting with a traditional Monday-Friday schedule.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates all recruiting efforts and will provide recommendations for interviews and hiring, as well as initiate onboarding for the facility. This also includes job postings (internal and external), background screening and drug testing, interviewing, etc. Employee engagement programs coordination – examples are, on site health fairs/wellness initiatives, employee events (on and off site), service awards, recognition awards, boot allowances, prescription safety glasses and uniforms, etc. Manages employee training administration – new hire safety orientation & training, monthly safety/HR training, career progression training documentation, etc. Weekly payroll administration Assist EHS department on key safety and environmental initiatives consisting of, but not limited to training, audits and observations in accordance to the Corporate EHS calendar Benefit Administration: At an intermediate level - communicates, explains and answers employees’ questions regarding the benefit plans, completes and files necessary forms, conducts new hire benefits orientations, conducts employee exit process, conducts open enrollment sessions, informs employees and managers about Employee Assistance Program services, explains and complies with HIPAA, assist with FMLA/NYS PFL and assists Short Term Disability claim forms, etc.). Organizes education sessions for employees regarding the importance of saving for retirement. Educates employees on benefit choices. Analyze data related to process and practice improvements in areas of discipline application, attendance guidance, safety, wage and salary, performance evaluation consolidation and reporting etc. Coordinate Worthington sponsored travel plans for employees to other facilities, customers, suppliers and/or training events Coordinate educational events for local high school and college students while collaborating with sponsoring groups (MVCC, SUNY Poly, BOCES, AIM, NYSDOL, FuzeHub etc.) May lead or supervise HR InternsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field. Intermediate knowledge of company programs: benefits, payroll, compensation, workers compensation and human resource programs Intermediate knowledge of human resources administration practices, laws & regulations, and HR theory Basic understanding of company's business processes, financials and general business acumen Analysis, critical thinking and investigation skills Problem solving and conflict resolution skills Customer service focused Organized and detail oriented Ability to maintain confidentiality Work independently and interact with all levels of employees Possess SHRM/HRCI certification (or willing to obtain it)Salary Range:
$44,000-64,000
