HR Generalist

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent. Minimum three (3) plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions. Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or equivalent. 5 years Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment PHR Certification. Strong communication skills. Ability to speak effectively before groups of management and employees Highly organized and detail oriented; with excellent time management skills Flexible and cooperative

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Oracle, GPS and Kronos preferred. 

Essential Functions:

Under general supervision, performs and coordinates a variety of professional and technical Human Resources functions, including employee relations, recruiting, leave of absence administration, and various other human resources functions.  Analyzes Human Resources data and assures effective administration of Company policies and procedures.  Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the areas of payroll administration, with special regard to accuracy and timeliness.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include the following; 

Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. Compiles and calculates various (weekly and monthly) statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay, headcount, turnover, benefits accounts, and submits them to appropriate departments Provides guidance and acts as a resource for employees and management; within limits of delegated responsibility, ensures their understanding, interpretation and compliance with personnel policies, programs, and procedures Prepares attendance corrective actions as needed and in accordance to company’s attendance policy Ensure compliance and administer LOA process under FMLA, STD, Workers Comp, etc. Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees Manages hourly performance review program Handles employee relations issues; may conduct investigations into employee complaints/concerns and performs disciplinary actions as needed. Provides assistance and coaching to supervisors on employee development and disciplinary procedures. Manages ongoing recruitment of qualified production personnel and implements effective recruitment strategies; partner with supervisors/managers to assess recruiting needs and identify key issues; maintains job descriptions and job postings. Manages all aspects of weekly payroll for 50+ employees; Records, maintains, checks and balances timecards. Recommends and implements improvements to streamline payroll processes Receive, process, and/or maintain various confidential records, files requiring classification records, files requiring classification and compilation of varied information (i.e.: department files, confidential files, reports, including vacation records) Responsible for creating and/or maintaining location employee handbook  Process all weekly, month end, and year end reporting and reconciliations as required Lead Company/Employee Engagement events Other duties may be required and assigned at any time
