HR Generalist

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an HR Generalist to work out of our Wilmington, NC office. This is an onsite position. Experience working in recruiting preferred.


The HR Generalist will Administer human resources policies and programs, balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs. Promote equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws. Provide comprehensive HR support, directly or indirectly to a designated client group in the area of recruitment. Work independently with minimal guidance. May act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Monitor, coach and train HR Coordinators. Create a training program along with yearly trainings for HR Coordinators to participate in. Audit the open requisitions sheet to make sure HR Coordinators are processing all new and rehires efficiently and accurately. Audit activations daily to ensure all fields are correct, I-9’s are removed and per diem is documented in Vista. Assign all new/rehires and transfers to the HR Coordinators to ensure the work is distributed evenly. Manage the internship program for SIC. This will include scheduling job fairs, interviewing candidates, making job offers and sending out offers letters, communicating with the interns throughout the school year, arranging hotels/meals, coordinating the initial orientation training and closing presentation meeting. Post all open positions on outside employment websites (NC Works, SC Works, colleges and universities). Point of contact between Dispatch department and Recruiting regarding internal transfers. Maintain the weekly Recruiting report (number of openings, hires, offers and requisitions). Assist with Recruiting and job offers for clerical and staff positions. Assist our benefits specialist with employee benefits and open enrollment  Maintain the weekly outreach to recruiting sources for OFCCP outreach. Manage the upkeep of the OFCCP outreach report. Assist with recruiting and interviewing as needed during busy times. Conduct business and interactions with a positive attitude that projects the highest level
of professionalism. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act) preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of previous HR Generalist experience. Advanced computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, database management. Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills. Travel required.
