HR Generalist

Scope of Responsibility:

 

Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment 

 

Essential Duties:

Direct back-up and support to HR Manager Employee relations issues and employee complaints Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems  Administers benefit plans. Processes required documentation to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions Administers payroll and attendance for all hourly and salary employees Counsels employees on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed decisions on benefits Conducts new employee Onboarding to ensure employees gain an understanding of company policies and procedures Responds to unemployment claims Works with HR department to develop job descriptions Assist with recruiting and interviewing for each open position identifying effective sources Completes personnel action forms for all necessary changes  Send correspondence regarding new hires, attendance and terminations to required personnelProtects organization’s value by keeping information confidential Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars Maintains company organization charts and employee directory Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.  Administers time and labor for salaried and hourly workforce Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing Additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, or A master’ degree in Human Resources management and two (2) years of experience in the HR field, or Seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience Current knowledge and experience in HR trends, employment laws, and HR management in a manufacturing environment At least three years of progressive, related professional HR experience at high performing organizations. Demonstrated success in implementing HR programs and processes Successful ability in public speaking and training large groups Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and Internet Demonstrated leadership and customer focus skills
