As an HR Generalist at Caterpillar, you will report directly to the HR Director in Geneva. Your main duty will be to improve the service quality within the HR department and across the organization at our Geneva site. Your excellent interpersonal skills and thorough knowledge of Swiss-specific human resources practices, including local labor laws, employment standards, and workplace regulations, will be vital. You will interact with a wide range of employees and leaders from different functions and business units. Utilizing your strong communication skills and expertise with HR tools, you will manage the effective integration and delivery of HR services through various channels.

Role Definition

Provides direction and support to business units in the areas of staffing, employee development, employee counseling, training and performance management.

What you will do / Responsibilities:

Employee Relations – Foster positive relationships between employees and management and implement engagement initiatives to boost morale and productivity.

Contracts & Memos - Draft, review, and manage contracts and memos, ensure legal compliance, and maintain accurate records of all agreements.

People Analytics - Analyze HR data to provide insights, develop and maintain dashboards and reports, and identify trends to inform HR strategies.

Policies & Procedures - Develop and implement HR policies and procedures as required by law, ensure they are up-to-date and compliant, provide guidance and support to employees, and conduct training sessions to educate staff on new policies.

Work Certificates Coordination- Coordinate the issuance of work certificates, ensure timely processing, maintain a database of issued certificates, and liaise with relevant departments to verify employee information.

Comp. & Benefits’ Administration - Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, ensure timely processing, address inquiries, and conduct training for new hires.

Pensions Plans Coordination - Coordinate employee pension plans, ensure regulatory compliance, provide employee support, and liaise with pension providers to resolve issues.

HR Related Facility Matters – Collaborate with Building Services to ensure a safe working environment, by providing data and implement workplace safety and health initiatives.

Tax & Finance Partnership - Act as the HR counterpart for tax and finance matters, ensure compliance with tax regulations, coordinate with finance on budget and invoices, and support internal audits and reviews.

HR Project Execution - Plan and execute HR projects to support organizational goals, collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives, and evaluate outcomes to implement improvements for future projects.

What skills you will have:

University degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience in Switzerland

Swiss HR diplomas or Certificate an advantage (Brevet Federal)

Min 5 yrs of proven experience as HR Generalist in Wester Switzerland (French speaking)

Full proficiency in English and French, other European languages a plus

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English & French, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

Proficiency in WorkDay (HRIS system) and MS office tools

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position
