Role: HR Generalist - Concord Mills
Reports to: Area P&C Business Partner
This is a generalist role, accountable for day-to day People & Culture (P&C) activity and providing advice on the people agenda, process and best practice to the Store Manager(s) and Retail Management team with particular focus on:
Recruitment
+ Support the Retail Management team to recruit hourly vacancies
+ Carry out the pre-interview recruitment activity required for non-management roles including uploading/advertising roles, screening, interview coordination, etc
+ Work with Retail Management team to complete the relevant right to work checks and documentation retention steps
+ Manage ATS: role creation, candidate response and onboarding steps
+ Liaise with third party contacts as required
+ Participate in seasonal recruitment
Onboarding and Induction
+ Oversee the onboarding process including contract/offer preparation and payroll/systems set up
+ Support the P&C administrator(s) to complete the appropriate background or reference checks and organize the relevant workwear for new starters
+ Participate in the delivery of the Primark Induction/Welcome event for new starters in partnership with the Retail Management team
Resource Planning
+ Monitor ongoing set up and maintenance of people data in the resource planning tool
+ Ensure all rotas and schedules are communicated to colleaguesand holiday requests are compliant
+ Partnering with the Retail Management to review absences
Payroll
+ Support the team to set up new starters & remove leavers on the payroll system and work with third party payroll provider
+ Coordinate the daily and weekly payroll activities including a review of the T&A and resolution of any errors with the relevant parties
+ Ensure the T&A/payroll system is updated with relevant absence information and documentation is processed
+ Oversee and manage payroll adjustments/changes
+ Act as point of contact for Colleague queries
Training & Development
+ Support and track the delivery of core learning programs via learning platforms
+ Capture training and development needs and discuss possible solutions with P&C BP and Store Manager
+ Maintenance of mandatory learning activity records e.g. first aid, data protection
Engagement
+ Organize events and activities that drive engagement, wellbeing and a positive Primark culture
+ Drive engagement and wellbeing communication on the in-store Notice Boards and in store meeting huddles
+ Coordinate and co-facilitate the listening group meetings and support the Store Manager in preparing for and responding to colleagues
+ Support store recognition activities, including nominations and Store Manager review
+ Encourage participation in engagement surveys and monitor completion rates
+ Support and advise Retail Management on colleague conversations regarding health or well-being issues
Performance Management
+ Monitor completion of the mid-year and end of year review process
+ Provide advice and support to the Retail Management team on the probationary period and performance review process and encourage a culture of feedback
+ Support and advise the Retail Management team in the performance review process
+ Prepare documentation/written correspondence for the Retail Management team for Probationary periods and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), providing advice on process as required
Talent & Succession
+ Coach and develop Store Manager capability in the talent review process for their Retail Management team
+ Share feedback and creating action plans with the Store Manager on Retail Assistant talent/potential
+ Oversee the talent, succession and development agenda for Retail Assistants, focusing on delivery of a talent pipeline for management roles
Colleague Relations
+ Responsible for the governance of regulatory, legal and compliance requirements in-store
+ Oversee the maintenance of colleague records (paper & electronic) in accordance with country regulations
+ Provide core employment law advice in-store, elevating complex issues where appropriate
+ Coach, advise and support Retail Management as a first point of contact on ER/CR matters, absence and return to work process
+ Provide guidance to Retail Management in conducting disciplinary and grievance investigations as required
+ Liaise with the ER/CR team as required to resolve complex cases
+ Oversee the preparation of documentation required for ER/CR investigation and outcomes
+ Provide advice and support to colleagues on P&C policies and procedures
+ Ensure ER/CR case reporting and tracking requirements are adhered to
Reporting
+ Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of people data that informs our systems, reports and analysis on people measures and KPIs
+ Support with completion of various reporting
+ Review data from colleague exit interviews
+ Monitor compliance reports
+ Participate in store audits
Business Alignment & Change
+ Support the Area P&C Business Partner in aligning P&C activity to the P&C Strategy and Purpose in-store
+ Partner effectively with the Central P&C team to support store implementation of global ways of working, policy and practice
Commercial and Business Impact
+ Develop an understanding of commercial performance and customer experience
+ Deliver against company expectations and policy, ensuring good governance and best practice is in place, compliance with regulations and mitigation of risk to the business
Teamwork
+ Responsible for the day-to-day line management of the P&C Administrators in store, prioritizing workload, coaching and developing on administration tasks and giving feedback
+ Builds trust and credibility across the function collaborating and operating with confidentiality and diplomacy
+ Promotes a culture of inclusion, optimism, enthusiasm and mutual support
Customer Experience
+ Uses insights and data to influence store decisions
+ Seeks to develop retail knowledge and awareness of P&C practices and developments within the sector

Requirements
+ HR experience 2+ years at HR Generalist/ Operational experience
+ Professional HR qualification desirable
+ Experience in coaching & influencing
+ Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize/flex in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
+ Good working knowledge of employment legislation
+ Analytical/problem-solving skills and an interest in developing commercial acumen
+ Delivery/facilitation skills
+ Experience in Talent, Performance and Change Management
+ Retail experience or other customer facing sectors with high colleague headcount
