Job summary:
The HR Generalist role will partner with our manufacturing organization to provide HR solutions that support our goals, strategies and objectives and will drive the development of HR operational excellence across performance management, talent acquisition, development, and employee relations. This key role provides support and consultation on issues to improve business results while optimizing people, structure and process.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists in the communication and implementation of HR policies and procedures within the site. Serves as the internal subject matter expert on internal HR policies and procedures, HR compliance, and employment law matters. Keeps groups informed of changes in HR policies, employment legislation and counsels managers and employees on policies and proceduresResponds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs. Advises management of appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Supports investigations to resolve employee relations or legal issues In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition organization, this individual will help drive the recruitment process for hourly positions and ensure site Manufacturing and Quality organizations are resourced effectively. Identifies key skills and competencies for these organizations to support business goals. Ensures onboarding of new hires and exit processes with terminating employees are administered consistently and effectively.Serves as first point of HR contact for union relations, grievances, antroubleshooting issues.Supports manufacturing and quality supervisors and other assigned client groups in effective execution and administration of the performance management system. Assists with the administration and implementation of salary planning, performance appraisal and objective setting programs within the site.Identifies key processes within site HR that need improvements in order to drive greater efficiencies. Assists in the development of employee engagement and communication strategy efforts for site to support company’s business objectives.Participates in HR projects as assigned. Works with other HR team members and other departments to complete projects and assignments throughout the year. Ability to adjust hours to meet with 2nd or 3rd shift employees on agreed upon schedule.Required Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications: BS/BA in Business, HR or related field
Skills and Experience:
3-5 years of HR experience required.Working knowledge of applicable HR legislation. Ability to support investigations and resolve common employee relations issues.Strong knowledge of all relevant employment law issues and the willingness to proactively stay on top of legislation changes and local requirementsAbility to apply strategic context to tactical execution, working independently in a fast paced, matrixed global organization.Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal).Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.Job Environment:
